Geoffrey G. Wren's [gwren@hillwren-law.com] practice emphasizes employment, workers' compensation, and personal injury law. He also handles other civil litigation matters, including business disputes.
Geoff obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia. He then graduated from William and Mary Law School where he served on the William and Mary Law Review. Before college, Geoff worked as a hod carrier and brick layer. After graduating from law school, Geoff worked as a legal services lawyer before entering private practice in 1990.
Geoff has been a member of the Oregon State Bar since 1988 and a member of the Washington State Bar since 2002. He is admitted to practice before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Federal District Court for Oregon. He also is a member of the Pennsylvania (1987) and Virginia (1985) Bars.
Geoff belongs to the National Employment Lawyers Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the American Inns of Court, the ACLU, and the Multnomah Bar Association. He has been active in a variety of other legal and civic organizations. Martindale-Hubbell, an attorney rating organization, has given Geoff an AV rating, the highest rating available.
Geoff passionately believes in the individual's right to fair pay from work in a just and safe workplace, and the right to fair compensation when misfortune strikes with accidental injury. He applies this belief in his daily work, litigating cases on behalf of discharged or injured workers, the targets of unlawful discrimination, and the victims of negligence or other wrongful conduct. Geoff also represents employers regarding non-union employment. Geoff believes that proper application of the complex rules governing employment helps employees while saving employers money.
When not working, Geoff enjoys Oregon's bounty of recreational activities, camping, hiking, and skiing in particular. Geoff also is an avid photographer as well as an occasional writer of short fiction and other works.
